     NAME
          mp3dec - decode audio MPEG files (layers 1, 2 and 3)

     SYNOPSIS
          mp3dec [ -o outfile ] [ file ...  ]

     DESCRIPTION
          Mp3dec decodes one or more MPEG audio files, writing 16-bit
          stereo linear PCM sample data to outfile (default
          /dev/audio).  If no files are named, mp3dec reads standard
          input.

          In the absence of the -o option, mp3dec also opens
          /dev/volume and sets the sample rate for playback to match
          the audio stream.  When writing to outfile, mp3dec prints a
          warning to standard error if the stream rate is not 44100
          Hz.
